PURPOSE
The purpose to the British Columbia Play Therapy Association is to provide a forum for the discussion of play therapy ideas and concerns. It will further seek to:
(a). advance the discipline of play therapy;
(b). conduct and foster programs of education in the field of play therapy;
(c). promote sound play therapy practices in the interest of society and individual;
(d). advance high standards of professional conduct through educational and professional meetings and conferences;
(e). inform and educate the general public mental health community, and educational institutions about the play therapy profession;
(f). liaise with various organizations for the purpose of exchanging information and resources;
(g). advocate for the rights and needs of children and;
(h). provide a medium of support to professionals in the area of play therapy.
